Camman Industries is proud to have manufactured custom pendant fixtures for Holy Family Catholic Church in South Ogden, Utah, which Joseph M. "Jody" Good, III, LC, FIES, IALD, LEED AP (Principal Lighting Designer - Spectrum Engineers, Inc.) earned recognition by winning the 2008 GE Edison Award for Excellence in Environmental Design. The lighting design for Holy Family Catholic Church had a number of objectives: maintain the open feel of the architecture, bring intimacy to the space as desired, and provide flexible lighting for activities ranging from worship to education. Mr. Good turned the challenges of lighting the 21,000+ square foot church into opportunities for success by designing systems that balance the visual task of reading, filling and respecting the volume of the space, controlling lighting, and enhancing the architecture and symbolism of the nave. Camman Industries worked closely with the lighting designer, architect and manufacturer's representative to create custom decorative lighting fixtures that centralize task, accent, ambient and emergency lighting. Up-lights in these pendant fixtures reveal the visual texture of the arches. The style and location of the custom pendants complement architectural finishes and allow them to be successfully integrated into the architectural and symbolic environment. The Holy Family Catholic Church is an example of how Camman Industries can incorporate quality custom lighting fixtures into a project to achieve award winning results.
